I have gotten to where I don’t often write daily posts about the shoots,
and rightfully so......But today? I have to.
First, it was amazing to see Marty Honea set a new club and personal
record today. I am lucky, I get to see up close and personal through my sometimes daily texts and phone calls with Marty just how hard he works. Works hard on fine tuning every aspect of his equipment, works hard watching instructional videos to absorb any little detail from the pros, then he goes outside and puts in the effort to put it all to work. Guys and gals….It doesn’t come easy, let’s get to work.
Second, speaking of hard work paying off. Ron St. Clair places second
today, and becomes our latest 400 club member today with a 402 and 9 X’s
and $12.00. This was no easy feat, some of our club's best shooters have
not broken through to be 400 Club members. So a big congrats goes out to
Ron who is another guy that puts in the hard work.
Speaking of new 400 Club members, SASA 900 Club OG Ken Walter gets it
done with a 3rd place finish, $8.00 and a 400 with 5 X’s. Talk about stubborn,
Ken just never gives up.
Last but not least, congrats go out to new 900 Club member Laura Bruck who in only her 2nd
Trail Shoot improved her personal best by 48 points today. Setting the new club record for the
21-49 Women’s Trad Class. Between Angel and Laura this club just might be becoming the hot
bed of women’s traditional archery in the southwest.

Great day for the SASA/900 Club Trail Shoot today. We had our best turn out yet
with 13 archers and we had our top seven shooters finish all within 11 points of each other. That combined with our new pay out System for the money pot….I think we are onto something. While we shoot the Trail Shoot the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month we do have a bonus Trail Shoot this Friday, March 28th, at Tucson Mountain Park.
